1967 Gibson Melody Maker SG
1967 Gibson Melody Maker SG

Guitar Description:

Pretty huh. Minimalist and very cool. 100% original too. I really dig the Melody Makers (except perhaps for the ‘amateur’-looking 1965-1966 shape). The benefit of the single pickup model means no additional switches, pots or electrical gubbins to go wrong or interfere with the vintage tone. Just plug in and that bridge single coil sings. The factory vibrato adds a warbly ’60s vibe, as does the vibrant red/white colour combination. This particular MM is in very good condition, with hardly anything to detract from the basic appeal. Not at all bad for what was originally intended to be a ‘student’ guitar; now it exudes vintage cool (even if some investment ‘collectors’ turn their nose up at them – their loss). Play and enjoy.
