Pre-CBS (with ‘L’ serial number) Musicmaster II in ‘faded’ Olympic White which has become a lovely buttery colour. Musicmasters were the cheapest of Fender’s low-cost ‘student’ guitars with a single pickup and no switches unlike the Duo-Sonic and Mustang. The nitrocellulose lacquer on the body has some lovely old crazing. The tortoiseshell scratchplate, white pickup cover looks great against the faded white colour and is very, very cool. It is all original and has that just-right, retro, light-‘relic’ look
