How to take a basic ‘student’ model and give it a really cool cult look. This is a rare 2 pickup (‘D’ for double pickup) single cutaway model from 1961 – this particular model was only in production for about 18 months. Great sound, ideal for reggae or indie and a bit more flexible than the single pickup model. There is nothing to detract from this being a very clean, all original classic. Single cut Melody Makers are becoming increasingly collectible and scarce at reasonable prices.
